Fr Rob Galea: Share your heart!

Fr Rob Galea: Share your heart!

Corpus Christi College recently had the privilege of hosting Fr Rob Galea, a renowned author, singer-songwriter and Catholic priest, for a series of enriching and transformative events that left a lasting impact on students, staff, and the wider community.

Fr Rob spent two days sharing his powerful and personal story with our Year 11 and Year 12 students. His message resonated deeply, particularly his emphasis on overcoming adversity through faith and resilience. The students appreciated his vulnerability and authenticity, which made his story not only relatable but also profoundly moving. Many found his performance and message highly relevant to their own lives, sparking conversations about faith, personal growth, and the challenges of modern life.

In addition to his sessions with the students, Fr Rob performed a charity concert in our school theatre, attracting almost 400 attendees. The concert was an intimate experience for fans, offering them a unique opportunity to connect with Fr Rob on a personal level through his music and testimony. The atmosphere was electric, and the audience left feeling inspired and uplifted. Fr Rob explained that all he doesn’t consider himself an artist or a performer, but someone who just wants to share what is in his heart – a heart that is in love with Jesus. In this way, his humility is what truly connected those gathered to his message.

Fr Rob also dedicated a day to staff development, leading a formation day focused on the interplay between wellbeing and faith. His insights helped our educators explore the importance of nurturing their own spiritual and emotional health, which in turn enhances their ability to support and guide their students. This day was not only educational but also a rejuvenating experience for the staff, fostering a deeper sense of community and shared purpose.

As part of the St Thomas More Parish Mission Week, Fr Rob offered both our staff and parish members the unique experience of a Teaching Mass. This event provided valuable insights into the liturgy, enriching our understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist.

Fr Rob Galea’s visit has been immensely well received by all who participated. His ability to connect with individuals on a personal level, coupled with his message of hope and faith, has left a lasting impression on both our school and parish community. We are deeply grateful for the time he spent with us and look forward to the continued impact of his visit in our lives.
